It’s been an incredible season of racing for
21-year-old Binder who began in 35th position on the grid … and
raced his way determinedly to the number one spot in the world …
and it’s not even the end of the season yet!
Binder, who has been based in Spain for the past few years, said
afterwards “it doesn’t feel real yet …” His parents were in the
stands to witness their son become a world champion.
The Red Bull KTM Ajo racer from Potchefstroom had already won
five races this season, putting him way ahead of the rest on the
leaderboard. He is the third South African to win a Motorcycle
Championship, and the first to do so since 1980.
MotoGP.com said Binder was now the “undisputed King of Moto3™ in
2016” and added that “From the back of the grid, from pole
position, breaking away at the front or battling on the last lap
– the South African has done it all.” – Source: www.sapeople.com |
