South Africa will assume the
role of Chair of IORA in October 2017, taking over from
Indonesia. The country will host the 17th
IORA Council of Ministers' Meeting from 14 to 18 October
2017 in Durban under the theme: "IORA ¡V Uniting the
Peoples of Africa, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East
through Enhanced Cooperation for Peace, Stability and
Sustainable Development".
The aim of the association is to promote trade
liberalisation and trade cooperation between the member
states with activities focusing on trade facilitation,
investment promotion and economic cooperation.
The IORA Council of Ministers Meeting will take place on
18 October and will be preceded by the following
activities:

- 17th Working Group on Trade and Investment (WGTI):
15 October 2017
