South Africa honours its teachers

"We acknowledge your dedication and selfless service to the betterment of our country," Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said at the National Teaching Awards on Saturday, an event celebrating excellence in South African public education.

 

 

Due to the security considerations and the up-surge in the number of visa applications, the Mission would like to emphasize that it is on top of the situation and is working hard to lessen the waiting period for both applications and receipt of visas. The Mission would also like to implore the broader community in Taiwan to be patient.

South African-born film editor wins Oscar

Margaret Sixel, the South African-born film editor, won the Oscar for Best Editing in a Feature Film for her work on the action film Mad Max: Fury Road. Her win was one of six Oscars that the film picked up. It adds to the movie's Southern African connections.
