1. Requirements for the application for a Visitor’s visa for holiday purposes (less than 90 days)

1.

A duly completed Visa application form DHA-84 signed by applicant

Note: Under Permanent Residential Address, please state the address in the Taiwan where you reside.

2.

Previous passport

All passports that you have used to travel on even if they have expired. If no previous passports have been retained, this office will provide a statement of declaration.

3.

Valid passport

The visa will be affixed in this passport, ensure that the:

  • Passports / travel documents is valid for thirty (30) more days after the intended return date from South Africa. 

  • The passport  contains at least two (2) unused (blank) pages labeled Visa when presented at the LOSA. One page is for affixing the visa or permit at LOSA and the other page is for endorsement of entry/departure stamp by the South African Immigration Services.

Visa pages referred to above do not include pages reserved for Endorsements, Amendments or Observations.

4.

Copy of bio page of the applicant's passport

Please make a copy in the original size on A4 paper. Do not resize or crop.

5.

One (1) passport photos with white or light background

  • The photo must measure 35mm width x 45mm height.

  • Set against white background. The applicant must be facing forward and in natural form (no open mouth / smiling; both ears must be visible.

  • The photo must have been taken within three (3) months.

  • No altered / photo shopped photos will be accepted.

6.

Proof of itinerary / reservation of a flight for a return/onward ticket

Please do not purchase air tickets until you obtain a South African visa. LOSA will not accept liability for flight cancelations or changes to confirmed flight dates.

7. 

 

Proof of sufficient funds

Recent three months bank statements stamped by the bank or photocopies of the bank passbook for own maintenance for the duration of stay.

(The visa officer reserves the right to request a more recent bank statement if required.)

8.

Proof of intended stay

Staying at rented accommodation:

Confirmed accommodation for the entire duration of stay at a hotel, self-catering, or B&B. It must clearly state the property address, dates of accommodation, and the full names of all occupants.

Invited by a friend/relative, please provide the following A, B, C documents:

A.  A letter of invitation from the host (relative or friend) in South Africa. This letter must be certified by the South African Police Services (SAPS) in South Africa (within the last three months).

The letter should clearly outline the following: 

  • the names of the host

  • ID/passport number

  • Address of the property where the applicant will be hosted

  • Where applicable clearly indicate an  undertaking to take full responsibility for repatriation, accommodation and medical

  • Undertake to inform immigration where the invitee moves to alternate accommodation no specified in the application for the duration of the visit.

B. Proof of host’s legal status in South Africa (copy of I.D. book / passport if the host is a South African citizen) or passport copy along with valid visa or permit (for non-South African citizens).

All copies must be certified by the South African Police Services (SAPS), and be within the last three months.

C. Proof of residence in the form of a utility account / telephone bill.

The address on this proof must match the address listed in the invitation letter. All copies must be certified by the South African Police Services (SAPS) within the last three months.

9.

Yellow fever certificate

Original and copy of the applicants certificate is required where the applicant is passing through/ or been to yellow fever belt area before entering South Africa.

10.

Where the applicant is a minor (below 18 years of age), the following will be required in addition to the above mentioned:

  • Copy of birth certificate or a household registration transcript. If it is not in English, please have it translated.

  • Where only one parent is travelling with the child, the non-traveling parent must submit a Consent letter. You may use the suggested format of the 'Parental Consent Letter' template or draft your own clearly written letter.

  • In case where the child is travelling alone or with someone else, the application must be accompanied by a consent letter(s) from both parents.

  • Both parents must bring their valid passports and accompany the minor to our office to lodge the application.

11.

Application Fee

Taiwanese passport holders are exempt from fees. Other nationalities holding a Taiwan ARC or APRC should consult our office.

12.

Two or Multiple Entry Visa into South Africa

Provide a full round-trip itnerary and photocopies of valid visas for any onward destinations.

13.

Transit Travelers

  • Traveler transiting through the following international airports do not require a visa:

            a) OR Tambo International Airport

            b) Cape Town I.A.

            c) King Shaka I.A.

            d) Lanseria I.A.

  • Travelers utilizing land ports of entry to transit though South Africa should apply for a visa.

 

2.  Requirements for the application for a Visitor’s visa for business purposes (less than 90 days)

SOUTH AFRICA VISITOR’S VISA --- For business purposes

  1. Duly completed DHA-84 (in black ink) and signed by the applicant.

  2. A passport with at least 2 free visa pages and must be valid for a minimum 30 days after the intended visit to South Africa and its copy (biometric/signature page), and the old passport or any other passport that may have been used for travel to South Africa previously.

  3. One passport photo - 35mm width x 45mm height against white background and not altered / photo shopped and taken within three (3) months. The applicant must be facing forward and in natural form (no open mouth / smiling; both ears must be visible).

  4. Passport holders of Taiwan are exempt from visa fees. Applicants of other nationalities who hold an ARC, please contact our office.

  5. A proof of flight reservation (a confirmed return/onward ticket is requested upon arrival at the port of entry).

  6. Yellow fever certificate and its copy are required if applicants have travelled to or will travel from or through the Yellow Fever belt before entering South Africa, and must be issued for a minimum of 10 days prior to arrival in South Africa.

  7. Proof of accommodation in the form of confirmed hotel reservation in South Africa.

  8. A signed invitation letter from a local company in South Africa, which must specify the applicant's name, date of birth or passport number, and the purpose of the visit.

  9. A signed guarantee letter from employer of applicant in Taiwan outlining responsibility for accommodation, medical and repatriation should it become necessary. It should be endorsed by the bank as a form of financial undertaking.

  10. Copy of Business Certificate (of employer).

  11. Non-Taiwan passport holders must provide original copy and a photocopy of ARC or APRC.
